Benestar Sandals Australia was created in 2016 to bring the Spanish Avarcas to Australia to complement our summer-loving lifestyle. The sandals are what we know as ‘Benestars’, or as we like to call them, ‘Bennys’.
Hello, I’m Louise the owner of Benestar Sandals Australia. While serving as a police officer for 18 years, I found myself yearning for a change. Don't get me wrong, I loved my job and the sense of purpose it gave me, but the constant conflict/confrontation & danger and stress took a toll on my well-being. I knew it was time to explore new opportunities and find a career that was less physically demanding and offered a better work-life balance.
I fell in love with the Avarca style of shoes from the very first pair that I bought. Several pairs later, I knew that I wanted more and wanted to spread the love of the Avarcas to everyone.
Now that I’m a Mum running around after my kids to sport, school drop off, pick up and everything else in between, my style has to be comfortable, while looking smart. I like to still look a little bit stylish, so adding a pair of sparkly shoes does just that!
A little background about Benestar Sandals: I love the story and tradition behind Avarca Sandals. They have been worn by Menorcan farmers for centuries. They were once made on long winter evenings by the very rural community, with materials that were found on hand; tanned cowhide and rubber tyres, which protected their feet when out in fields.
Now days each pair of Benestar Avarcas or Sandals as we say in Australia, has been created by amply experienced shoemakers guaranteeing comfort, quality and style.
I truly love what I do and believe Benestar Sandals are not only luxe in style but well made and versatile with so many outfits! And a fun fact for you - the meaning of Benestar is - Well – Being, something I care a lot about for myself and my customers.
My favourite colour Benestar: this is a hard one but Multi Glitter/Rose are my go to Benny’s. They are so versatile and fun. Matching almost everything they are packed with multiple colours. Whether it’s jeans and a t-shirt or a dress plus adding that bit glam! My motto is love your shoes, love your life.
